WHAT IT DOES

It changes the color organization, not merely the saturation.

The original deer experiment bent OKLCH hue toward the color families a dichromat can separate while preserving useful chroma. This version turns that idea into species presets and uses the BFFT posterizer’s hue-preserving gamut fit, so intense colors are compressed back into sRGB instead of being clipped flat.

A photograph is not an animal mind.

An RGB camera has already discarded ultraviolet, polarization, motion sensitivity, field of view, and much of the lighting information an animal uses. This translates the color information that survived. It does not invent the wavelengths that did not.
